ARMSTRONG’S CLEAR

PRODUCT DATA SHEET

DESCRIPTION: A one coat, high solids clear finish for unpainted wood made up of heavy and light bodied oils. Heavy bodied oils provide water repellency while light bodied oils combined with solvent penetrate deep into the wood. Armstrong's Clear slows but does not stop the graying process of the wood.

USE: For all new or old or pressure-treated unpainted wood surfaces such as: decks, siding, shakes and shingles, fences and log homes where water repellency and wood conditioning is the desired goal. Use one of Armstrong's family of pigmented coatings for surfaces where color retention is one of the desired goals.

SURFACE PREPARATION: Surface must be clean, dry and free of dust or dirt. Wash surface with Armstrong's concentrated wood cleaner or pressure wash. Previously stained surfaces must be prepared uniformly to allow even penetration of Armstrong's product.

APPLICATION:

Decks and other horizontal surfaces
Stir well before use. Do not over apply. Apply one even coat. For best results, use low to medium nap roller cover or kitchen-type sponge mop applicator in a squeegee-like manner to achieve maximum square foot coverage per gallon. For spraying application, back roll in a squeegee- like manner to remove any excess product from surface. After one hour , any puddles or still wet areas should be removed with a dry towel. To avoid spontaneous combustion, put all oily towels or rags in a metal container of water with a lid. Dispose according to local and state regulations. Do not apply below 50 or in the direct sunlight at the hottest part of the day.

Siding and other vertical surfaces
Stir well before use. Apply liberally for maximum penetration, any puddles below siding and railings immediately.

CLEANUP: Clean up all spatters and spilled immediately with solvent Avoid spatters on glass, concrete and any nearby vehicles. Clean all tools and equipment with solvent. To avoid spontaneous combustion, place all oily rags and waste in water-filled metal container with lid. Dispose according to local and state regulations.

RE-COAT SCHEDULE: 1 to 3 years on horizontal surfaces. 2 to 5 years on vertical surfaces depending on local weather, environment and exposure.
